NFL hall of fame game picks 7/31

There is no better feeling than knowing that football is back and Sundays are about to turn into the best day of the week. Here is some preseason picks to gets us warmed up for the season (last updated 2:00 PM PST 7/31)

Trey Lance gets the start for the Chargers while Hendon Hooker start for the Lions. I think that this game will be very run heavy while Harbaugh tries to save Lance’s career it will be a good start for him to go light on the passes. Lions will also probably run a conservative offense while not trying to give away a lot of their playbook but they might be forced to throw the ball to work to get some confidence for their new offensive coordinator settling into high expectations left from Ben Johnson.

My prediction: Harbaugh is telling us Lance is a great back up QB but we have yet to see it, they also will roll out DJU from the disastrous Florida State team last season. Hendon Hooker should be a solid back up with motivation to solidify the back up role. I expect a tough run heavy game with these coaches. Give me the over on Omarion Hampton and the under on Trey Lance and DJU. Oh and Lions win a close one.
